Dollar Store Burglarized Twice in a Week

If you are familiar with our blog, you know we commonly write about burglaries of high-ticket items. These include things like jewelry, guns, and pharmaceuticals; but these are not the only items criminals go after. More often than not, criminals will target grocery stores and convenience stores. They steal everyday items such as cigarettes, clothes, and other household items.

Just last month, in our home state of Texas, a dollar store had to face this reality twice in a four-day period, which is not a common occurrence.

In this instance, there was a recurrent suspect participating in both. One of the suspects identified in the initial burglary matched the description of one of the men in the following incident. The two criminals were able to easily enter the store by breaking the glass of the front door and walking right in. Once inside the store they filled bags with miscellaneous items.

To this date, the burglars have yet to be identified. You can find more information on this burglary at this link. Crime Stoppers will pay a reward up to $5,000 for information leading to the suspects’ charging and arrest. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers by phone at (281) 342-8477 or by online submission.

You can help prevent this from happening at your store by taking the necessary precautions. In order to determine the best security solutions for your unique situation, it is important to be advised by a seasoned security expert.

A fractional security consultant can do a walkthrough of your store and determine where your weaknesses are and help you identify what necessary items and protocols need to be implemented. If you are ready to take a step towards improving the security of your location, you can find more information on fractional security consultants here.
